Introduction
SAIS was established upon approval of both the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and the Department of Education of Guangdong Province in May 2005. SAIS provides education services for children of foreign countries and people from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, offering an American curriculum. SAIS currently offers instruction in grades Kindergarten through 8th and will expand to secondary school in the near future. We also offer a Pre-School Program for 3 and 4 years olds. Our small student to teacher ratio insures that we can meet the needs of all students. The goal of SAIS is to provide our students with a high-quality, student-centered American education. The school strives to best prepare its students through a rich, research-based curriculum and world-class instruction. The academic status and records of our students will be accepted by American schools, as we are using an American curriculum. Our teachers at SAIS are licensed in the United States and have completed a college/university program there to obtain this license. Our teachers are committed to the academic and social growth of our students. SAIS provides a respectful environment, which insures that students feel valued, safe and comfortable in our school. SAIS textbooks and instructional materials are from the United States and used by many schools and school districts there. SAIS places an emphasis on interactive activities, teamwork and performance. We believe that academic, artistic, and athletic performance plays an integral role in developing students who are competitive in our ever-changing global society. We firmly believe that our students will become envoys in the expanding between China and the United States.
