  Valerie Luce Principal of SAIS
Mrs. Luce received her BA from the University of California, Berkeley, and her M.A. in Educational Administration from Sacramento State University, graduating summa cum laude for both degrees.  This past year she has been supervising student teachers, and has served as an adjunct instructor for graduate studies in the Education Department of Washington State University in Spokane, WA.  She spent 3 years teaching on the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico, as well as several years teaching in northern California schools, before becoming an elementary school administrator, first in California and then in Nevada.  She has designed district programs from Kindergarten through high school levels for regular education, alternative education, and at-risk students. Mrs. Luce taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grades at SAIS from February to June of last year. This year she was appointed Principal and Director of Adminssions.
